'M' TechniqueThe 'M' Technique® is gentle and soothing. Very different from conventional massage, this is a very light and gentle stroking technique. It is suitable for everyone. Great for calming anxiety and stress and can help sufferers of insomnia. Deeply relaxing, it can have a meditative and hypnotic effect. It is highly adaptable, depending on the Client’s needs. It can be done through light clothing or directly on the skin with or without oil or cream. If the Client is unable to lie comfortably on the massage couch for any reason, this therapy can be done seated (in a conventional chair, a massage chair, or a wheelchair). It can be done in a hospital or hospice setting, with the Client wherever they are comfortable. Depending on the Client’s needs, it may not be appropriate for the whole body to be treated so often just the hands or feet are treated. Used in America since 1994 it has a measurable effect on the body’s parasympathetic nervous systems. It works on the skin receptor sites that send signals to the brain. It was created by Dr Jane Buckle, a critical care nurse, who has much experience in an intensive care setting. It is particularly suitable for clinical settings when massage may not be appropriate because the receiver is too fragile. It has been used before invasive medical procedures. Family or carers often like to be taught this very gentle technique so that they may help their loved ones. For more information see http://www.rjbuckle.com/mtech.html Mrs Hayley N Drakes MIFR MICHT
